How to get around Munich

The easiest way to get around Munich is via public transport. All our venues can easily be reached publicly with just a few minutes walk from the next S-Bahn, U-Bahn or tram station. So get yourself tickets online or at one of the many sales points throughout Munich. We suggest you get yourself the CityTourCard, which offers you discounts to many Munich attractions. More info can be found here.

Thursday Night - Hofbräuhaus

As in the past years, we will kick off the Munich Lindy Exchange on Thursday with the Welcome Party in the “Erkerzimmer” on the 3rd floor of the world-famous “Hofbräuhaus.”

The Hofbräuhaus is located at Platzl 9, directly in the middle between the “Marienplatz” and “Isartor” S-Bahn stations and a five minute walk from either one.

Friday Night - OnStage - the home of "Swing and the City"

“OnStage” is the dance studio of “Swing and the City,” the dance school of Christine von Scheidt, who started the Munich Lindy Exchange 20 years ago. Our Friday night party will happen there.

“OnStage” is located at Aschauer Straße 24 in the south of the city. To get there, either take Tram 18 to “Chiemgaustraße” or U2 or S3 to “Giesing” – both are about a 10 minute walk to the studio.

Saturday Swing Brunch - Boogie Bären

The Boogie Bären are one of the oldest Boogie Woogie and Lindy Hop clubs in Germany and many of Germany’s best Lindy and Boogie dancers took their first dance steps here. We are proud to have them as a partner once again and will be having our annual Swing Brunch in their studio.

The Boogie Bären are located in the north of Munich, close to the Olympic Park. The closest U-Bahn stations are “Georg-Brauchle-Ring” for the U1 and U7 and “Olympiaeinkaufszentrum” for the U3 and U8. From both stations it’s about a 5 minute walk.

Saturday Ball - Deutsches Theater Silbersaal

The “Deutsches Theater” is one of the most famous theater and musical stages in Bavaria – and the Silbersaal is their crown jewel. Built in 1896 and miraculously almost unharmed in WWII, when the rest of the theater was almost completely destroyed, we will celebrate our Grand Ball on Saturday in this amazing venue.

The “Deutsches Theater” is located in the heart of town, a five minute walk from either Central Station, “Karlsplatz (Stachus)” or “Sendlinger Tor.” All three stations can be reached by any number of S-Bahn, U-Bahn and tram lines.

Sunday daytime - Löwenbräu tent at Oktoberfest

For many, the highlight of the Munich Lindy Exchange is a visit and a reserved table in the Löwenbräu tent at the world-famous Oktoberfest. As always, we have our reserved tables on the rear gallery of the tent, which is the last of the big tents of the left if you enter the Oktoberfest from the main entrance.

The Oktoberfest is a destination that is impossible to be missed – almost everyone is heading there on this day. You can either take the U-Bahn U4 or U5 to “Theresienwiese,” which is the closest stop, or take a short walk from “Goetheplatz” and U3/U6 or any number of lines from the S-Bahn at “Hackerbrücke.” The tent is about a 10 minute walk from the U-Bahn and 20 minutes from the S-Bahn.

Sunday Night - Vintage Club

For our Farewell Party, we will once again be hosted by the lovely Markus & Bärbl in their “Vintage Club” dance studio.

As with the “Deutsches Theater” on Saturday, the “Vintage Club” is located in the heart of town and can be reached by S-Bahn and U-Bahn from Central Station, “Karlsplatz (Stachus)” and “Sendlinger Tor.”
