After twenty years of organizing the fantastic Munich Lindy Exchange, we like to think that we have planned the best exchange it could be, with lots of amazing events and activities planned for you. Thursday Night - Bouncing in Bavaria

Thanks to the amazing success of the past years, „Bouncing in Bavaria“ will once again be the opening night.
One room will be all Bavarian the whole evening. From waltz and polka to Zwiefacher, the Niederbayerischer Musikantenstammtisch will turn this room into a fun night of traditional Bavarian music, dancing, food and drinks. We will even offer taster classes so you can dance along.
The other room will feature one of our favorite local live bands – the Swing Lyons – with music of all speeds as well as a few surprises throughout the evening.

Friday Daytime - Munich Swing Walk

This year will be fabulous! We will have a REAL Swingin‘ Sightseeing tour again – just like in the first years of the Exchange!
For the tour, we will meet at 11 am at the Hofgarten. After a bit of dancing, we will show you the highlights of our beautiful city. The tour will ends at the Muffatwerk beergarden next to the Isar river where there will be food and music. And also the chance to cool off in the river, so bring your swimsuits!

Friday Night - Party at OnStage

Our venue tonight is the OnStage, the dance studio of Swing and the City and Christine von Scheidt, the wonderful founder of the Munich Lindy Exchange. The motto will be announced later and there might even be a vintage fair. We invited the world famous Doc Scanlon’s Cool Cat Combo from Spain and we prepared plenty of funfair surprises for you and will offer a special taster class, with bavaria-tions.

Saturday Daytime - Swing Brunch

The Boogie Bären are one of the Munich Swing dance schools and will host the Saturday brunch. The local dancers will prepare some very tasty breakfast and lunch recipes for you. Food and drinks (Coffee and Tee) will be included.
There might be live music, but we are still working on the details for that.

Saturday Night - Grand Ball at the Silbersaal

Our venue tonight is the beautiful Silbersaal at the Deutsches Theater. The Silbersaal (silver hall) is a real jewel and the only room left of the original theatre building from 1896. The rest of the building was almost completely destroyed during a bombing in 1943 and rebuilt in the mid-1950s. It is almost a miracle that the Silbersaal, which is situated right next to the Auditorium destroyed by the bombs, was spared. Nowadays, it is the gem of the theatre – and we are so happy to welcome you and Doc Scanlon’s Cool Cat Combo there for a night of dance, live music and shows.

Sunday Daytime - Oktoberfest

No matter how old the Munich Lindy Exchange will become – one thing will not change: Our traditional visit to the Oktoberfest! It’s the world’s largest fair – and you’ll be a part of it. Six million visitors every year make it almost impossible to even get into one of gigantic beer tents on the weekend – but once again, we managed to secure tables with 75 spaces at the famous „Löwenbräu“ tent.
As part of the reservation, everyone attending will receive vouchers for two „Maß“ (one Maß is one liter of beer) and one „Hendl“ – one half of grilled chicken or any other meal of your choice.
With the reservation you will be able to get inside the tent even if it seems to be full. We will also have an area just for us Lindy Hoppers so if we want we can dance around.
At the Oktoberfest, there will be plenty of time to talk, socialize and get to know everyone – also, there might be dancing. The music will be traditional Bavarian music, but that doesn’t mean you can’t swing out to it!

Sunday Night - After Wiesn/Farewell Night

If you still can’t get enough of partying, there will be a party in the dance studio of the Vintage Club to conclude the fun filled day.
Marcus & Bärbl, the owners of the Vintage Club, have been the leading pioneers in the national and international swing dance scene for over 20 years.
For the music, we are working on getting the best shellac record DJs from around the world to play for you, which sadly can’t be confirmed yet – but even if it shouldn’t work out, we still will have amazing DJ sets for you all night long!
